Connecting S3 as external storage for SAP BTP DMS

0

Hello, Does anyone have any experience connecting an s3 bucket as external repository for SAP BTP DMS? Per SAP documentation, to create the external repository I need to specify an existing destination in BTP and I'm using the option OAuth2RefreshToken using Token Service URL as https://sts.amazonaws.com. However, when I test the connection, I still get a 403 Forbidden. Any insights into how this may be configured? Thank you

Hello,

Regarding your query of connecting a S3 bucket as external repository for SAP BTP DMS, kindly note, the AWS S3 documentation does not have a specific mention of such configuration steps/integration with this third-party platform. We would request you to consider reaching out to the support team of the respective third-party provider as they should have better insight into the steps required for this configuration/integration.

Also, from the detail shared by you currently, it is not very clear how exactly S3 is involved in this workflow. Therefore, the 403 error is ambiguous as well. We would need visibility into the setup or the workflow involving S3 for this configuration. We need to confirm if the 403 error response is actually from S3, what is the client application via which this error is encountered, what is the S3 bucket resource and the IAM requester involved leading to this 403 and what action was being performed on S3.

Please note, there can be multiple reasons for a 403 error on S3 end,

Kindly note, for resource-specific troubleshooting from S3 end, you would need to raise a support ticket in the S3 Technical Support team: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/awssupport/latest/user/case-management.html

Providing the S3 request ids will help the support team troubleshoot the issue in a better way by fetching the logs: https://repost.aws/knowledge-center/s3-request-id-values
