AWS Rekognition Custom Labels and data retention after training

When using AWS Rekognition Custom Labels with my data, does the service use that data for other than to train my models? Is the data used to train other customers' models or for any other purpose outside of the services?

When using Amazon Rekognition Custom Labels, the images you provide to train your models are only used for that purpose. Your data is not used to train other customers' models or for any other external purpose.

Amazon Rekognition Custom Labels is a fully managed service that allows you to build and run custom image and video analysis models using your own data and annotations. When training a model, the images you provide are used solely to train that specific model within your account.

The service does not access or utilize your images in any other way. Amazon has strict policies around customer data privacy and security. Your content remains confidential and is only accessed by the service to perform the requested tasks of model training and inference.

  • Hi Giovanni, Thank you for your answer.

I found an inconsistency here on this page though: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/organizations/latest/userguide/orgs_manage_policies_ai-opt-out.html

It mentions that : AWS artificial intelligence (AI) services, such as Amazon Rekognition, Amazon CodeWhisperer, Amazon Transcribe, and Contact Lens for Amazon Connect, might store and use customer content processed by those services for the development and continuous improvement of other AWS services. As an AWS customer.

Could you please clarify? Thank you
