Environment properties added mysteriously and not deleting

0

I have an environment I created today, and earlier I added specific environment properties. Just now I went to change one of the properties, and I saw for some reason it's like they got copied from another running environment in a totally different Application. There are properties there that I didn't create for this environment, and the ones I did create are out of order. The values of the ones I created are what I expected and I can modify them, but I can't delete the ones added without me doing anything. I click the X, Apply, wait for the environment to refresh, and then the properties are back again.

I talked to AWS support chat. The reason this was happening was I had extra variables in my .ebextensions/environment.config file.
