Currently the maximum output resolution is 4K for MediaLive.

AWS MediaLive is currently limited to encoding UHD/4K images in H.264 and H.265. Please refer to this link for the MediaLive limitation. https://docs.aws.amazon.com/medialive/latest/ug/eml-limitations-and-rules.html
Also, the input source type and bitrate may also need to be considered. Are the inputs live push, RTP, RTMP, or are they pull types, MP4, TS, HLS. Each of these inputs have their own practical limitations. 8K live sources could be quite high in bitrate and taxing for other parameters.
