Hello.
The ".dev" domain is a TLD that was recently added to Route53.
Therefore, it's possible that some kind of problem or malfunction is occurring on the AWS side.
In any case, I think it's best to wait for a response from AWS support.

Lately, I've noticed that AWS support seems to be very busy, and responses are often delayed.
There's nothing we can do until we get a reply from AWS support, so I think all we can do is wait.

I understand your frustration with the domain registration failure for your .dev domain. The .dev TLD is supported by Route 53, so this error suggests there may be a specific issue with your registration attempt rather than a general compatibility problem.
Regarding wait times, response times can vary depending on your AWS Support plan. If you have a Basic Support plan, response times are typically longer than with Developer, Business, Enterprise On-Ramp, or Enterprise Support plans. You may want to review your current support plan options to see if upgrading would provide faster response times for future issues.
To follow up on your existing case, I recommend:
-
Adding correspondence to your open case through the AWS Support Center at https://console.aws.amazon.com/support/. You can provide additional details or check for any updates from the support team.
-
Ensure all required information was provided in your original case submission, as incomplete information can sometimes delay resolution.
While waiting for a response, you might also consider:
- Verifying that your AWS account is in good standing with no billing or verification issues
- Checking if there are any account limits that might affect domain registration
- Attempting to register a different domain name with the same TLD to see if the issue is specific to that particular domain name
The support team will need to investigate the specific reason for the registration failure, as the error message indicates there's an issue that requires their review.
