I apologize, but unfortunately, it is not possible to extend the AWS Free Tier benefits on your account beyond the initial 12-month period. The AWS Free Tier runs for exactly 12 months after you activate your account, and this period cannot be extended regardless of how much or how little you've used the services.
After the AWS Free Tier period expires, all resources on your account are billed at the standard, pay-as-you-go service rates. This policy applies to all accounts, even those with minimal usage.
However, you do have a few options:
-
You can continue using your current account and take advantage of the "Always Free" tier services. These are services that remain free indefinitely, regardless of how long you've had your account.
-
You can also look into services that offer short-term trials. These are separate from the 12-month free tier and may still be available to you.
-
If you decide to create a new account for learning purposes, you would indeed get a new 12-month free tier period. However, please be aware that creating multiple accounts to extend free tier benefits may not align with AWS's intended use of the free tier program.
Regardless of which option you choose, it's important to monitor your usage carefully to avoid unexpected charges. Even during the free tier period, exceeding the free tier limits can result in charges.
I understand this may not be the answer you were hoping for, but I hope this information helps you make an informed decision about how to proceed with your AWS learning journey.
