To resolve your monthly credit limit issue, you need to ensure you've completed all the necessary steps:
-
Make sure you've linked a payment method to your AWS account. Without a linked payment method, your first attempt to publish a HIT (Human Intelligence Task) will be denied with the error message you're seeing.
-
Verify that you've completed the identity verification by phone for your AWS account.
-
For the quota increase request, ensure you're requesting your total projected monthly spend amount for Mechanical Turk, not just for individual projects. This aligns with best practices and would prevent you from having to renegotiate spend for each project.
-
If you've already submitted a quota increase request through the Service Quotas console but haven't received a response, you can open a case with AWS Support under the "Account and Billing" category to address your inquiries directly.
The process for requesting a quota increase involves:
- Signing in to the AWS account associated with your MTurk Requester account
- Navigating to the Service Quotas console
- Searching for the Mechanical Turk quota
- Entering your desired quota amount
- Providing justification for the increase if required
AWS will review your request and send you an email confirmation once it's approved. This process can take some time, which might explain why you haven't heard back yet.
Even though your applied account-level quota value shows as 1,500, there might be additional verification steps needed before you can fully utilize this quota.

Hello,
Sorry to hear about this roadblock. I've passed these details onto our MTurk team for further assistance.
Please monitor your open support case, and they will provide next steps as soon as they're able. You can access your open cases, here: https://support.console.aws.amazon.com/support/home#/case/history.
