S3 Glacier Deep Archive early delete fee

0

Hi, i am a beginner with AWS, i stored data using S3 Deep archive. The first day i deleted some files and i found out on my bill that i had an early delete charge. I’ve done some research and I'm still not sure of the answer. Will i have to pay 4.54$ just once or for 6 months, 4.54x6=27.24$ ? BILL

Thanks

Hello.
Fees are paid only once.

S3 Glacier Deep Archive has a minimum storage duration of 180 days. Objects deleted prior to the minimum storage duration incur a pro-rated charge equal to the storage charge for the remaining days. Objects that are deleted, overwritten, or transitioned to a different storage class before the minimum storage duration will incur the normal storage usage charge plus a pro-rated storage charge for the remainder of the minimum storage duration.

The formula is as follows.
In your case, since you deleted the files on the first day, the Glacier Deep Archive fee is calculated as it is.

2522.507GB * 0.0018USD * (180day - 0day) / 180day = 4.54USD
