That's true, I was rejected for a production access request, but later found forums explaining how people get approved through the automated system and offers SES accounts in bulk. In the same time normal users keep reporting worse deliverability. At this point, I would rather use another service than rely on SES
after researching how to get amazon ses production access, i started looking through similar discussions and found that this is not a new or isolated issue. there are many posts about the same problem from now, half a year ago, one year ago, and even older.
the pattern is always similar: people explain their use case, provide the requested information, but still receive rejection or no clear explanation about what exactly needs to be changed.
at this point it seems that aws is aware of this problem. either the approval process has issues that have not been fixed, or there is no intention to make the process more transparent.
i understand that aws needs to protect ses from abuse, but a process where customers cannot understand why they are rejected or what they need to improve creates a lot of frustration. after seeing the same complaints over such a long period, it is hard to believe this is just a few isolated cases.
that’s the most frustrating part of this situation. after reading many posts about SES production access issues, i noticed the same pattern over and over again. customers explain their situation, ask specific questions, and the replies from SES are usually very similar to the standard case responses
there is rarely any specific explanation about what caused the rejection, what information was missing, or what the customer should do differently next time
it feels like the actual questions are being ignored and replaced with generic answers that do not help customers understand the approval process
after seeing the same type of complaint appearing in posts from different times, it seems this is not just a few individual cases but a recurring problem with how SES handles these requests
Our company works with SES for different clients, and lately approved accounts are being offered in bulk while deliverability keeps getting worse. It looks like the auto-approval system is being abused. The most frustrating part is that AWS seems to be letting this continue. They keep this “smart” automatic system active even though the growing delivery problems and abuse reports should already make it clear that it is not working properly.

This trend is becoming difficult to ignore. If sellers can reliably offer new production-enabled accounts every day, AWS clearly needs to review how these approvals are being granted.

I used SES before and had a generally good experience, but I understand the concerns people are mentioning.
The main thing I noticed is that SES can sometimes feel unclear when it comes to approvals and deliverability issues. Shared IP reputation is always a concern because even good senders depend on the overall ecosystem.
SES is still a solid service, but more transparency from AWS around reputation and account decisions would help customers understand what is happening.

I've been wondering the same thing. Seeing so many "Production-ready" SES accounts being advertised makes me question whether the current approval process is working as intended. If these accounts are being used for spam, it's not only AWS that suffers-every legitimate customer using the shared IP pools is affected too.
I’ve noticed the same trend. The growing number of pre-approved SES accounts being advertised is alarming and deserves urgent attention from AWS.
