Deleted DNS and now domain won't resolve to my website.

I accidentally deleted the Lightsail DNS zone for my domain. I remade it and have my domain assigned to my Lightsail WordPress instance for my website. However, my domain won't resolve and I get this error:

This site can’t be reachedCheck if there is a typo in www.domain.com. If spelling is correct, try running Windows Network Diagnostics. DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN

My A record is pointing to the static IP for my Lightsail instance and I can get to my website using the IP. DNS has had more than 96 hours to propagate. How do I get my domain to resolve?

Use a website like https://www.whatsmydns.net/ to check DNS propagation of your domain worldwide. Enter your domain name and search for the A record. It should show your Lightsail static IP across different locations. If not, you'll need to wait a bit longer.

  • This looks to be the problem. Thanks!

Hello.

After creating the DNS zone, did you check that the NS record matches the NS record checked with "whois" etc.?
If they do not match, please modify the NS record of the DNS zone so that it matches the NS record checked by "whois".

  • Yes, I have checked my nameservers are set correctly. My registrar has them pointed to the ones that my Lightsail requires and whois.com confirms.
