What causes the AWS Route 53 billing alarm. Threshold went from under $61 to over $100

0

Hello. I got an alarm that my billing for Route 53 increased

Amazon CloudWatch Alarm "Billing Alarm for Route53" in the US East (N. Virginia) region has entered the ALARM state, because "Threshold Crossed: 1 out of the last 1 datapoints [78.29 (28/12/23 01:23:00)] was greater than or equal to the threshold (61.0) (minimum 1 datapoint for OK -> ALARM transition)." at "Thursday 28 December, 2023 07:23:32 UTC".

My bill now is $101. Că you please explain what caused the spike in value?

Many thanks. Nadia Ramasawmy

Hello.

Please check the Route53 column on your bill to see what fields are being charged.

The image below is the bill for my AWS account, but there should be multiple billing fields in the Route53 item like this, so could you please share what types of items there are?
Also, could you share how you are using Route53?

I think it depends on how you use the domain, but Route53 charges fees based on the number of queries, so I think the number of queries may be increasing.
