Unable to connect to lightsail instance and website is not reachable

My website was running fine till a few days ago. Since last few days I started experiencing website not reachable on any browser. And the same problem was getting auto rectified. But since last two days it is not auto correcting. And I am neither able to connect through SSH the instance nor the website is reachable. Kindly advise.

  1. Check your LightSail instance status is "Running"
  2. If you can't SSH, see it is allowed in Networking
  3. If SSH issue is figured out, see the services like apache are running
  4. Also make sure your server is not out of storage and scale out if it is needed.

  • Thanks for your answer. Well, I tried the steps that you have suggested.

    1. is ok, the instance is Running.
    2. yes it is allowed in Networking. TCP over 22 is allowed. But I am unable to connect through SSH either way!

  • Have you tried re-booting your instance and then trying to SSH again? You can reboot your instance from Lightsail console. Click on your instance and then click on "Reboot" button on the top-right.
  • If reboot does not solve the issue, can you check if you are able to SSH into your instance using the Lightsail in-browser console? In the Lightsail console, click on your instance and under "Connect" tab click on "Connect using SSH". If you are able to SSH using in-browser console, then you might need to revise your Putty settings.
  • If you get an error while trying to SSH from Lightsail console, can you describe what error you are seeing?
