Route 53 domain registration case has remained unassigned for over 3 days

0

Hello AWS Support Team,

My Route 53 Domains support case has remained unassigned since July 13, 2026 at 20:31:48 UTC+8.

Support case ID: [withheld from this public post] Service: Route 53 Domains Category: Domain Registration Issue Current status: Unassigned

I attempted to register an available .com domain through Amazon Route 53, but the request failed with the following message:

“We can’t finish registering your domain. Contact AWS Support.”

My AWS account is active and has a valid payment method. The failure email did not provide any specific reason or required corrective action.

Could an AWS representative please advise how I can have the existing case assigned or escalated? I can provide the complete case ID through the authenticated AWS Support Center or another AWS-approved private channel.

The requested domain remains publicly available, so I am concerned that it could be registered by another party while the case remains unassigned.

Thank you.

I understand your concern about your domain registration issue and the time-sensitive nature of domain availability. Let me provide some guidance on how to proceed.

For your existing case, the best way to follow up is to add correspondence directly through the AWS Support Center at https://console.aws.amazon.com/support/. When you log in, you can view your case and add additional details or request an update. This ensures your follow-up is properly tracked and routed to the support team handling your case.

Regarding domain registration failures in Route 53, there can be several reasons why a registration might not complete successfully, including payment processing issues, domain registry restrictions, or account verification requirements. When you add correspondence to your case, you might want to confirm that:

  • Your payment method is current and has sufficient funds or credit available
  • There are no holds or restrictions on your AWS account
  • You've completed any required account verification steps

The response time for your case depends on your AWS Support plan. If you need faster response times for business-critical issues like domain registrations, you may want to review your current AWS Support plan options, as higher-tier plans offer shorter response times and additional support features.

Since domain availability is time-sensitive, make sure to add a note to your case through the Support Center explaining the urgency of securing the domain before it becomes unavailable. The support team will work to address your issue as quickly as possible based on your support plan level.
