Error 002: Access to Bedrock models is not allowed for this account

-1

Hello,

I am a new AWS user currently using a Free Tier account. At the start, I was able to invoke Amazon Bedrock models successfully without any issues. However, I am now consistently receiving the following error:

“Error 002: Access to Bedrock models is not allowed for this account.”

This issue affects:

All Bedrock foundation models All AWS regions The Bedrock Playground in the AWS Console API/SDK access as well

For clarification, I am using the root account directly, so this does not appear to be related to IAM permissions or role restrictions.

Because the problem suddenly began affecting every model and region simultaneously, I suspect the account may have been placed under an automated restriction or entitlement limitation related to new AWS accounts with little or no billing history.

I previously opened a support ticket regarding this issue, but after not receiving a response for an extended period (1-2 weeks), I eventually closed it. Two days ago, I opened a new support case in hopes of resolving the issue.

Could this account please be reviewed for any Bedrock entitlement, verification, or automated restriction issues? I dont mind waiting for support but 2+ weeks was starting to be too much.

My account ID is: 6479-1935-8991 Support Case ID: ***************

Thank you for your time and assistance.

*Edit: Removed case ID — Kels S.

  • Let me guess....you're account is a few hours old and you want to use a bleeding edge service having never had any billing history, education, expereince or relationship with AWS ever before BUT you absolutely need Bedrock because reasons.

Hi there,

Sorry to hear you haven't received a response on your support case yet. I've located your case and shared your feedback internally. Cases are addressed in the order they're received and wait times can vary depending on case volume.

Continue to monitor your case for updates: http://go.aws/support-center.
