future deployment of KVS VPC endpoints to the Tokyo Region

0

My understanding is that while KVS VPC endpoints are available in preview in the eu-west-3 region, they are not currently available in the Tokyo region.

Regarding future deployment to the Tokyo region, are there any plans to support it? Depending on the roadmap, it might be possible to avoid building a custom solution from scratch.

I don't have information about future plans or roadmaps for deploying Amazon Kinesis Video Streams VPC endpoints to the Tokyo region. AWS doesn't publicly share specific timelines or roadmaps for feature availability in different regions.

What I can confirm is that Kinesis Video Streams VPC endpoint service is currently available on a request basis - you need to email AWS with your Account ID, Stream ARNs, and VPC ID to request access, and the approval process may take up to a week.

For information about future regional availability or to express interest in having this feature in the Tokyo region, I'd recommend:

  1. Reaching out through the AWS Support Center at https://console.aws.amazon.com/support/ to inquire about regional expansion plans
  2. Working with your AWS account team if you have one, as they may have more insight into regional roadmaps
  3. Submitting feature requests through your AWS account channels

The decision on whether to build a custom solution would depend on your specific timeline requirements and whether you can wait for potential future availability in Tokyo.

  • This beta is available in preview in the Europe (Paris) Region, eu-west-3. To access these components and our getting started guide, email us.

It appears that the access request is strictly predicated on the Paris region.
