Hi,
Please contact AWS Support under the free support plan to get the rDNS record reset after which you will be able to release the static IP.

If you later want to delete the static IP address from your Lightsail account, you must submit a request to AWS Support to remove the reverse DNS configuration. After the reverse DNS configuration is removed, you can delete the static IP address from your Lightsail account

Just tried that. I got, "Technical support is unavailable under the Basic Support plan"
You could create the case under the
Account and billing
category either withAccount
andOther Account Issues
category ORBilling
andOther Billing Questions
categoryIt did not work! Even that I got a message that would "We have removed the reverse DNS record you requested! Please note that propagation of this update to DNSBL services that Amazon works with may take up to a week." It has passed 10 days and I am still not able to delete de IP address.
It worked! After the 10 days, It did not, but I replied the case and they fixed.

Looks like it will work... I got a response on may4... Today is may 7th and it still locked... lets wait util may 13th. It seems it may take a full week to propagate.
