Instance i-029a3458f152ffc6e; EC2 reports healthy. There was an issue ten days ago that led to a restart and the server was working before that. Deployed new image, rebooted, restarted, server still reports as being under maintenance.

Hello,

Thanks for reaching out to us. I see that you're reporting one of your EC2 instances encountered a maintenance issue recently that resulted in a restart of your server. After the instance was restarted, it continues to show as being under maintenance.

To begin, please understand that I am unable to post specific information regarding the details of this instance due to our sensitive information handling policies. If you would like to discuss specific details regarding this account and its resources, please open a ticket with our Premium Support EC2 teams [1]. As I am not able to reference this instance, I will provide general guidance based on my experience in this subject.

It is quite possible that your EC2 instance encountered an issue at the service level that required your instance to migrate to new underlying hardware. It is also possible (while unfortunate) that it migrated to a new underlying host which has recently become degraded as well. Essentially, you may have migrated from one impaired host to another. While this is very unlikely, it can happen despite our best effort.

Since I am unable to confirm that this is the case for this specific instance, you are able to easily refer to your EC2 Scheduled Events area [2] or Personal Health Dashboard [3] in your AWS Console to review ongoing events that affect your EC2 operations.

In the situation that there is a scheduled event still affecting your instance, please initiate a stop and start of your instance [4] at a time that works best for you to begin the migration procedure to a new underlying healthy host. This would clear any outstanding scheduled maintenance events
