I have recently regained access to my old email

I have recently regained access to my old email, Mohammedsamiul970@gmail.com , associated with an AWS account. Unfortunately, I do not have the AWS username and password for this account, and the Visa card used during its creation is no longer available.

My new AWS account ID is 406909182675. When attempting to sign in to the old account, I receive the message: "An AWS account with that sign-in information does not exist."

I kindly seek your guidance and support in recovering access to my old AWS account linked to Mohammedsamiul970@gmail.com

Your prompt assistance is highly

  • That's confusing, because your question makes clear reference to an old email address.

If this is a new email address, and has never had an AWS account associated with it, you can create a new account with that email address.

If there is an active AWS account already associated with the email address, and you are not able to access the AWS account but you are able to access the email account, then you can reset the AWS account password https://docs.aws.amazon.com/IAM/latest/UserGuide/reset-root-password.html

If there used to be an AWS account associated with the email address, and the AWS account was closed more than 90 days ago, the AWS account is gone and cannot be recovered. It is not permitted to create a new account using the same email address.

I do not have the AWS username and password for this account

The username is your email address, and if there is an account with that email address the password can be reset by following these steps https://docs.aws.amazon.com/IAM/latest/UserGuide/reset-root-password.html

However, the error message indicates there is no account associated with your email address, meaning that if an account previously existed with that email address then it would have been closed. And a closed account cannot be reopened after more than 90 days https://repost.aws/knowledge-center/reopen-aws-account

  • After 90 days, you can't reopen your closed account or open a new AWS account with the email address associated with your closed AWS account. Any content remaining in your closed account will be deleted.
