Artemis SOP Definition: Restricted Wireless Audio Devices (700 MHz Band)
Scope Applies to all wireless audio transmission devices, including wireless microphones, wireless intercoms, in-ear monitors (IEMs), audio instrument links, and wireless cueing equipment.
Restriction Rule (PROHIBITED) A wireless audio product is PROHIBITED FOR SALE if its operating frequency range overlaps—in whole or in part—with the restricted spectrum between 694 MHz and 820 MHz. To eliminate ambiguity, a product is restricted if it meets the following condition:
- Overlap Condition: Minimum Frequency <= 820 MHz AND Maximum Frequency >= 694 MHz (If both conditions are met, the device operates partially or entirely within the 700 MHz band and must be restricted, even if its range extends below 694 MHz or above 820 MHz.)
Exclusions (OK FOR SALE) A product is PERMITTED FOR SALE if it meets any of the following criteria:
- Strictly Out-of-Band Wireless: Operating range is entirely below 694 MHz (Maximum Frequency < 694 MHz) OR entirely above 820 MHz (Minimum Frequency > 820 MHz).
- Wired Equipment: Microphones and audio equipment operating via physical cable/cord.
- No Stated Frequency: Product details make no reference to band, bandwidth, frequency, freq, operating range, UHF, or U.H.F.
- Non-Transmitting Accessories: Standalone antennas, standalone audio processors, and cameras.
