Hello,

You can recreate Default VPC using this documentation: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/vpc/latest/userguide/default-vpc.html#create-default-vpc

About charging some money, it can be related with EIP new pricing policy from the February 2024: https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/aws/new-aws-public-ipv4-address-charge-public-ip-insights/

  • I don't think EIP (elastic IP) pricing policy changed but now there is a charge on every public IP. These are 2 different things even though EIP comes with public IPv4 address. If you created EIP and it was unattached that would have generated some costs alone (plus then the public IPv4 address). Truth can be found from AWS Cost Explorer ...

@Ihor has provided the solution to this.

More generally ....

he told that the service is for free

Not completely true.

If this is a brand new account using an email address that has never had an AWS account before, then it's likely to be in-scope of Free Tier.

Free Tier generally lasts for 12 months from the date the account is created. Services in-scope of Free Tier tend to be small, low-powered instances that are designed to get a new user acquainted with AWS and all its services for a low (or no) cost.

The FAQ for Free Tier is here https://aws.amazon.com/free/free-tier-faqs/

Full details of what's in-scope of Free Tier (some items are free for 12 months, some for shorter, some forever, and some never) are here https://aws.amazon.com/free/

Anything that's not listed here, assume it's chargeable. Pricing info for all services is here https://aws.amazon.com/pricing/

Advice on tracking your Free Tier usage is here https://docs.aws.amazon.com/awsaccountbilling/latest/aboutv2/tracking-free-tier-usage.html

Advice on avoiding charges in Free Tier is here https://repost.aws/knowledge-center/free-tier-charges

suddenly I saw the charges in my Bills and cost management.

These amounts are running totals before Free Tier (and any other credits) are applied. When your bill is calculated at the end of the month and an invoice is generated, your Free Tier entitlements will be applied to arrive at the final total.

Go to https://console.aws.amazon.com/billing/home#/freetier and it will show what your Free Tier entitlements are, and how much you have used of each so far.

When your bill comes in at the end of the month and you feel you have been billed for something unfairly, your best course of action is to log a billing support case https://docs.aws.amazon.com/awsaccountbilling/latest/aboutv2/billing-get-answers.html#billing-support
