Lightsail Instance Quota Set to 0 vCPUs - Support Cases Unassigned for 24+ Hours

-1

Hello AWS Community,

I'm experiencing a critical issue with my AWS account that's preventing me from using Lightsail services, and my support cases have been unassigned for over 24 hours.

Issue Details:

Problem: Lightsail instance quota (L-4259AF9B) is set to 0 vCPUs across all regions Impact: Cannot create any Lightsail instances Error: When attempting to request quota increase via Service Quotas console: "Unable to perform this operation. Please contact AWS Support" Account ID: 252159218523 (sharing for AWS staff reference) Region: Primarily need ap-southeast-1, but quota is 0 in all regions Support Cases Status:

Submitted 2 support cases for quota increase (Account and billing category) Both cases remain "Unassigned" for over 24 hours This exceeds the stated 24-hour response time for billing support What I've Tried:

Service Quotas console - returns error message Multiple support case submissions Account verification - all payment methods and account details are valid Checked multiple regions - same 0 vCPU quota everywhere Business Impact:

Unable to proceed with development/testing projects Have $200 in promotional credits ready to use but blocked by quota restriction This appears to be an account-level configuration issue requiring manual intervention Question for Community: Has anyone experienced similar quota restrictions on new accounts? Is there a specific process for accounts that start with 0 quotas?

I understand that new accounts may have conservative limits, but 0 vCPUs seems unusual and the error message suggests this requires AWS Support intervention.

Any guidance or assistance from AWS staff would be greatly appreciated. The unassigned support cases are causing significant delays in getting this resolved.

Thank you for your help!

I understand you're experiencing issues with your Lightsail instance quota and are concerned about your support case status. Let me provide some guidance on both matters.

Regarding Your Lightsail Quota Issue:

For Lightsail service quotas, you'll need to work directly with AWS Support to request increases. The Service Quotas console may not support all Lightsail quota adjustments, which is why you're seeing that error message. Since you've already opened support cases, that's the correct path forward.

Regarding Support Case Response Times:

Response times vary based on your AWS Support plan:

  • Basic Support (free tier): Does not include technical support cases, only account and billing support with general guidance
  • Developer Support: Business hours access via email with response times of 12-24 hours for general guidance
  • Business Support: 24/7 access with response times of less than 1 hour for urgent production system issues, less than 12 hours for production system impaired, and less than 24 hours for general guidance
  • Enterprise Support: Fastest response times including less than 15 minutes for business-critical systems

The 24-hour timeframe you mentioned applies to specific case severity levels and support plans. If you need faster response times or more comprehensive support, you may want to review your current AWS Support plan and consider upgrading if your business needs require it.

What You Can Do:

To follow up on your existing cases, visit the AWS Support Center at https://console.aws.amazon.com/support/ where you can add correspondence to your open cases with any additional information or updates. This is the appropriate channel for managing your support requests.

Your quota issue does appear to require AWS Support intervention to resolve, so continuing to work through your open support cases is the right approach.
