Unable to assign Kiro Pro subscription to IAM Identity Center user – "Failed to create Kiro subscription"

0

Hello,

I'm trying to assign a Kiro Pro subscription to an IAM Identity Center user from the AWS Console, but every attempt fails with the following error:

Failed to create Kiro subscription for 1 user An error occurred while trying to create Kiro subscriptions. Here is my setup:

AWS Account: Personal AWS account IAM Identity Center: Enabled User is visible in the Kiro Users & Groups page User is active and has a valid email address I have administrator permissions on the AWS account

Things I have already tried:

Retried the subscription assignment multiple times Verified that the IAM Identity Center user exists and is active Signed out and back into the AWS Console Confirmed that I have the necessary administrator permissions

Despite this, the same error appears every time I try to assign the subscription.

Has anyone encountered this issue before? Is this a known backend provisioning problem, or is there any additional configuration required before Kiro subscriptions can be assigned?

If this requires investigation by the Kiro service team, could someone please advise on the next steps?

Thank you.

Hello.

I haven't encountered that error myself, but I have seen similar errors on AWS re:Post a few times.
However, none of the questions include a solution, so the specific course of action is unclear.
There are reports on GitHub issues indicating that the problem was resolved by contacting AWS Support.
So, why not try opening a support case with AWS under "Account and billing" to make an inquiry?
Inquiries under "Account and billing" are free of charge.
