Multi tenant app-sync monitoring

Hi I am looking some direction/documentation in order to develop real time monitoring app using AppSync. I am trying to make sure each user/tenants can monitor only their data which comes from IoT core. I would like to use AppSync instead of API gateway with socket. I am using cognito for authentication.
