Amazon Workspaces Applications Client - Windows Ent Deployment Tool not the latest version

0

I downloaded the Windows Enterprise Deployment Tool from https://clients.amazonappstream.com/ and it's not updated to the latest version (1.3.1954) it's still on 1.2.1830. Will it be updated?

The Enterprise Deployment Tool you downloaded should be updated to include the latest client version. The latest WorkSpaces Applications client version is 1.3.1954, released on August 14, 2026, which includes several improvements such as support for persisting full screen or maximized window states across sessions, honoring printer preferences, and various bug fixes.

If you've downloaded the Enterprise Deployment Tool and it contains version 1.2.1830 instead of the latest version, this may be a temporary lag in the distribution. The Enterprise Deployment Tool is designed to include the WorkSpaces Applications client installation files, and it should be updated when new client versions are released.

For immediate deployment needs, you can manually update the client using PowerShell commands to uninstall the current version and install the latest version. However, if you're planning a large-scale deployment, you may want to check back on the download site or contact AWS Support through the AWS Support Center to inquire about the availability of the updated Enterprise Deployment Tool with version 1.3.1954.

  1. First, please re-check the download page.

Open https://clients.amazonappstream.com/ again after clearing your cache (e.g., using an incognito/private window) to verify if the displayed version has been updated. Please note that there may be a time lag before updates are reflected, depending on the region or CDN cache.

  1. Check if automatic updates are enabled.

Unless automatic updates have been disabled, the client and USB driver are designed to update automatically as soon as a new version is released. Manual updates using the Enterprise Deployment Tool are required only in environments where automatic updates have been intentionally disabled.

  1. Manual update procedure

If automatic updates are disabled, you must follow the official documentation and use PowerShell to uninstall the existing version before explicitly installing the new version (1.3.1954).

powershell

# Uninstall existing version
Start-Process msiexec.exe -Wait -ArgumentList '/x AmazonAppStreamClientSetup_1.2.1830.msi /quiet'
Start-Process -Wait AmazonAppStreamUsbDriverSetup_1.2.1830.exe -ArgumentList '/uninstall /quiet /norestart'

# Install new version
Start-Process msiexec.exe -Wait -ArgumentList '/i AmazonAppStreamClientSetup_1.3.1954.msi /quiet'
Start-Process AmazonAppStreamUsbDriverSetup_1.3.1954.exe -Wait -ArgumentList '/quiet'

    1. Have tried all that, the file hasn't been updated on the servers. And it's 11 days since the latest version was released.
    2. and 3. This is a new deployment where I want to use the latest msi-file 1.3.1954, which I can't download. So updates isn't the issue here.
