Route 53 and External Domain registrar A record question

0

I got a .ro domain from internet.bs and Im using an EC2 instance to run my site. I dont know if I did the A record configs right, for some reason sometimes i have issues resolving my own site, a hit or miss. I know I did something wrong. Perhaps I do not need A records both on my internet.bs registrar and on Route 53? This i do not know. My current config is as follows:

On my internet.bs domain regisrar i have the following:

A	www	3600	18.157.245.139
A	@	3600	18.157.245.139
NS	@	12800	ns-1166.awsdns-17.org.
NS	@	12800	ns-1972.awsdns-54.co.uk.
NS	@	12800	ns-735.awsdns-27.net.
NS	@	12800	ns-116.awsdns-14.com.
SOA	@	7200	ns-735.awsdns-27.net. hostmaster.topdns.com. (...

On Route 53 I have the following:

hydrasecurity.ro A Simple - 18.157.245.139
hydrasecurity.ro NS Simple - ns-116.awsdns-14.com.
- ns-735.awsdns-27.net.
- ns-1166.awsdns-17.org.
- ns-1972.awsdns-54.co.uk.
hydrasecurity.ro SOA Simple - ns-116.awsdns-14.com. awsdns-hostmaster.amazon.com. 1 7200 900 1209600 86400
www.hydrasecurity.ro A Simple - 18.157.245.139

If anyone can help me figure out what's wrong, I would greatly appreciate it.

Hi,

This is Nigel from AWS. I understand that you're facing issues with your domain hydrasecurity.ro.

I have taken a look at the domain and the domain is not setup correctly if you wish to use Route 53 as the DNS provider.

Running a whois on the domain:

whois hydrasecurity.ro

Domain Name: hydrasecurity.ro
Registered On: 2019-11-13
Expires On: 2021-11-12
Registrar: Instra Corporation Pty Ltd
Referral URL: www.instra.com

DNSSEC: Inactive

Nameserver: ns-canada.topdns.com
Nameserver: ns-uk.topdns.com
Nameserver: ns-usa.topdns.com

Domain Status: OK

The name servers that are configured at the registrar are not the Route 53 name servers. In order to use the Route 53 hosted zone as the authoritative hosted zone for your domain, you will need to update the name servers to:

ns-116.awsdns-14.com.
ns-735.awsdns-27.net.
ns-1166.awsdns-17.org.
ns-1972.awsdns-54.co.uk.

Please note that I am not referring to the NS record in your zone. These are the name servers configured at the registrar. If you're not sure how to update the name servers, please contact the registrar's support for the steps. After making this change, all future records and changes will need to be made in the Route 53 hosted zone.

@nigelaws

Thank you. I have requested these changes to be made on my registrar. Once these changes are made, do I need to make any changes to my Route 53, or are they fine the way the are now?

Also, once I update the nameservers on my registrar, can I delete the A, TXT, NS, and SOA records listed on my registrar or should I just leave them the way they are?

Thank you again.
