I reserved r7gd.2xlarge ec2 instance successfully, when I tried to use it, I found I reserved on WRONG region. reserved region is us-east-1, but on us-east-1, it does not have r7gd.2xlarge ec2 instance at all. us-east-2 does have r7gd.2xlarge kind ec2. how do I move this reserved instance from us-east-1 to us-east-2?

if it cannot be done, how can I cancel it? It is not fair to charge me without using it.

Yes, I saw 'sell reserved instances' dropdown menu. but the problem is there is no way people will buy something which never is going to work.

I opened a basic ticket to AWS support. over 30 hours, no one supports me at all.

your insight or any help are very appreciated.

thanks,

Hello.

As far as I can see from this document, I don't think you can change the region later once you purchase it.
https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/UserGuide/ri-modifying.html#ri-modification-limits

By the way, once you purchase it, you cannot cancel it.
https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/UserGuide/ec2-reserved-instances.html

After you purchase a Reserved Instance, you cannot cancel your purchase. However, you might be able to modify, exchange, or sell your Reserved Instance if your needs change.

If you have contacted AWS Support, I think it would be better to wait for their response.
AWS Support may be able to give you better suggestions.
