Support case unassigned for 14+ days - $383 refund request for unused QuickSight/Amazon Q charges

-2

I opened a support case 14 days ago requesting a refund for $287.66 in May 2026 and $95 in June 2026 charges for Amazon Q in QuickSight. I never used QuickSight at all no dashboards, no topics, no queries created. The free trial ended and auto-billed without clear notice.

I have since: disabled all Amazon Q toggles, downgraded my user role from Admin Pro to Admin, and deleted the QuickSight account entirely to stop further charges.

My case remains unassigned with no response. Can someone from AWS Support please help me? I'm on the Basic Support plan."

I understand your frustration with waiting for a response on your existing case. For billing inquiries and refund requests like yours, I recommend adding a follow-up correspondence directly through the AWS Support Center at https://console.aws.amazon.com/support/. This will help ensure your case receives attention.

Regarding your situation with Amazon QuickSight and Amazon Q charges: When you subscribe to QuickSight, you're typically billed based on your subscription tier and the number of users. Amazon Q in QuickSight is an additional feature that may have separate pricing. It's important to monitor your subscriptions and user roles, as charges can accrue based on the tier level (such as Admin Pro vs. Admin).

Since you've already taken steps to disable Amazon Q, downgrade your user role, and delete your QuickSight account, you've done the right things to prevent future charges. However, refund decisions are made on a case-by-case basis by the AWS billing team.

Please continue to work through the AWS Support Center for updates on your refund request, as that's the appropriate channel for billing matters.
