Unable to merge AWS certification accounts.

0

I am seeking assistance with an issue related to merging my AWS Certification accounts.

I currently have two AWS Certification accounts associated with the same email address. Old account

Current Account – Contains my current, valid AWS certification. Old Account – My older account, which contains only expired certifications.

I attempted to merge these accounts using the self-service account merge option. However, the request failed with the following error message:

"Your merge request from (my current account) to another account cannot be completed because it does not meet the criteria for a self-service account merge. Please reach out to AWS Customer Support to complete the merge."

Following this, I submitted multiple support requests through the AWS Support portal, but I have not received any response.

The primary issue is that Credly is currently syncing certification data from my old AWS Certification account, which contains only expired certifications. As a result, my current valid AWS certification from account is not being reflected in Credly.

I kindly request any assistance in merging these two AWS Certification accounts so that my active certification is correctly associated with my account and synchronized with Credly.

Thank you for your time and assistance. I look forward for response.

I thought you must contact AWS Training and Certification Support to request a manual merge.

  • Thanks for your response. I tried the self-service option, but it wasn't successful. That's why I'm looking for a way to request manual intervention from AWS to merge my accounts. If manual account merging is possible, I'd appreciate any guidance on how to initiate that process.

I understand you're experiencing difficulties merging your AWS Certification accounts and need your current valid certification to sync properly with Credly. Let me help clarify the situation and next steps.

When the self-service merge option fails with that specific error message, it indicates that your accounts require manual intervention from AWS Training and Certification support rather than standard AWS technical support. This is a specialized process that the certification team handles directly.

For AWS Certification account issues, including merges that cannot be completed through self-service, you should contact AWS Training and Certification support specifically. You can reach them through the AWS Training and Certification Help page or by visiting the AWS Certification support portal at https://www.aws.training/certification.

When you contact them, be prepared to provide:

  • Details about both certification accounts (without sharing sensitive information publicly)
  • Information about which certifications are in each account
  • Confirmation that you own both accounts
  • Details about the Credly sync issue you're experiencing

The AWS Training and Certification team has the specialized tools and access needed to handle certification account merges that don't meet the automated criteria. They can also help ensure your current valid certification properly syncs with Credly once the accounts are merged.

If you've already submitted requests through the general AWS Support portal, I'd recommend specifically reaching out through the AWS Training and Certification support channels, as they handle these certification-specific account issues separately from general AWS technical support cases.

I apologize that my UI is in Japanese, but why not try the "Merge accounts" option at the bottom here?
