Currently, the Learning to Rank (LTR) plugin is not supported in Amazon OpenSearch Service Serverless , and unfortunately, there is no workaround to enable it in the serverless option.
The LTR plugin is available in the Amazon OpenSearch Service Managed Clusters (non-serverless) and requires OpenSearch or Elasticsearch 7.7 or later. If your use case requires the LTR plugin, you would need to use a managed cluster rather than the serverless cluster.
You can refer to the below documentation for more information : [+] Learning to Rank for Amazon OpenSearch Service - https://docs.aws.amazon.com/opensearch-service/latest/developerguide/learning-to-rank.html
However, I would like to inform you that this feature is on the roadmap. As you may know, any new feature must undergo rigorous testing and validation before it becomes generally available, to ensure both security and stability for end users. As OpenSearch Serverless is still in the process of onboarding several features that are already available in managed clusters, I am unable to provide an exact ETA for when this capability will be released, since Premium Support does not have visibility into the product development process.
