CloudWatch Dashboard > Share by Email > Password expired

0

Dear AWS community,

we have shared a CloudWatch Dashboard with another person by email using the "Share your dashboard and require a username and password" section. Unfortunately, the person did not reset the password in time and now the temporary password sent by AWS has expired. When trying to log in with the temporary password, it now says, "Temporary password has expired and must be reset by an administrator.".

The problem is that I cannot find how to reset the password. I have tried removing that email and share the dashboard again with that email, but no new email with a new temporary password is resent.

I would be glad about any hint.

Regards Milad

When you share a dashboard in CloudWatch, behind the scenes it will create an Amazon Cognito user pool called "CloudWatchDashboardSharing". Within this pool, you should see the user in question, and will be provided the option to reset this user's password.

  • Thank you for your response. It solved my problem.

For anyone not finding the Cognito user pool: My Dashboard is in region Frankfurt, but the automatically created user pool was in region N. Virginia.

  • The reset password option is greyed out at Amazon Cognito > User pools > CloudWatchDashboardSharing > User: xxxxx@ccc.com > Actions > Reset password
