Hi. The cost of the AWS Config Rule also depends on numbers of evaluations. Are the evaluations bw accounts same?
Hi Om,
AWS Config pricing is based on the number of rule evaluations. Even if both accounts have the same number of rules the cost will vary depending on how many times each rule is evaluated. Please have a look at the evaluation modes and triggers -> https://docs.aws.amazon.com/config/latest/developerguide/evaluate-config-rules.html#aws-config-rules-trigger-types
Hi Om, AWS Config is a recorder of events in AWS environments and you are charged based on the number of configuration items recorded, the number of active AWS Config rule evaluations and the number of conformance pack evaluations in your account. So you can have the exact number of rules in different accounts and get different charges based on the factors mentioned.
You can check this blog for recommendations to optimize the cost of AWS Config: https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/mt/cost-optimization-recommendations-for-aws-config/
