I have an identity pool set up with third party providers for login. I would like to enable MFA on users that login via an external provider. Is that possible?

Good question. I searched and found How do I activate TOTP as a multi-factor authentication for Amazon Cognito user pools? where it says:

MFA doesn't support federated users in a user pool.
