Ability to Share an AMI with Fast-Launch Configuration

Question

I was able to create an AMI with Fast-Launch configuration and it works great but when I share the AMI with other accounts the configuration seems to be lost. I tried to share the snapshots associated with the fast-launch configuration but had not impact. It seems that the Fast-Launch configuration cannot be centralized and has to be enabled on the target accounts.

Answer

Each account needs to set up its own Fast-Launch configuration after importing the shared AMI. While sharing the snapshots doesn't carry over the Fast-Launch settings either, it's good practice to ensure all necessary resources like snapshots are accessible in the target account. Then, those accounts can set up Fast-Launch according to their specific requirements, which provides them the flexibility to customize settings to fit their needs.
