Cloudwatch Logs Insights Discovered Fields Pane Keeps Opening on launch

0

Recently we have been seeing that when opening AWS Cloudwatch Insights the Discovered Fields Panel opens on it's own when opening for the first time or in a new tab/window. At first we figured it would eventually go away but after two weeks it seems to still be happening. I've tried going through the settings but can't seem to find anything that controls the behavior or the panel.

The Discovered Fields panel in AWS CloudWatch Insights is a feature that automatically detects and displays fields in your log data that can be used for querying and analysis. It appears that the panel is automatically opening when you first open CloudWatch Insights or in a new tab/window because it is set to do so by default.

To disable this feature, click on the settings icon in the top-right corner of the Discovered Fields panel and uncheck the option for "Automatically open Discovered Fields panel when opening a new tab or window". This should prevent the panel from automatically opening in the future.

Alternatively, you can check for the discovered fields, use them and then close the panel.

  • Hi Divyam, I'm not seeing a settings icon in the top right corner for the discovered fields section. I have been using it normal for years and this just recently happened with myself and coworkers. While we have been just closing it, it's become more of an annoyance than anything so not too big of a deal but just strange this all of a sudden started happening.
