Certificate renewal is not possible

When renewing a certificate in AWS Certificate Manager, we get: Status Failed. Detailed status: Additional verification required to request certificates for one or more domain names in this request. What do I do with this?

Hello,

I understand that you are experiencing the error below when attempting to renew an ACM certificate: Status Failed. Detailed status: Additional verification required to request certificates for one or more domain names in this request.

The steps for troubleshooting ACM certificate renewal issue can be seen in the documentation here[1]. As per the referenced documentation ACM will attempt automatic renewal 60 days prior to the certificate expiration date. If ACM is unable to renew after 15 days you will receive email instructions on how to manually resolve the renewal issue. Therefore as a next step in resolving this issue I recommend first checking for the ACM email and the steps required to renew your certificate.

The process to manually resolving the renewal issue is different depending on how the Certificate was originally validated. ACM certificates can be created using either email or DNS validation. The requirements for renewing both email and DNS validated certificates can also be seen at the referenced link[1].
