Based on the available information, WorkSpaces Pool is not supported on the Linux client application. WorkSpaces Pool is only supported on macOS, Web Access, and Windows client applications (version 5.20.0 or greater).
If you need to access WorkSpaces Pool environments but cannot use the Linux client, you have a few potential workarounds:
-
Use Web Access: Since WorkSpaces Pool is supported via web access, you could configure your Linux thin clients to access WorkSpaces through a compatible web browser instead of using the dedicated Linux client application.
-
Use a different client device: If possible, you could use Windows or macOS devices (with client version 5.20.0 or greater) to connect to your WorkSpaces Pool.
There is no publicly available information regarding whether AWS plans to add Linux client support for WorkSpaces Pool in the future. If this feature is critical for your deployment, you may want to contact AWS Support or your AWS account representative to inquire about the roadmap for this functionality.

Hey,
Hope you're keeping well.
WorkSpaces Pools are currently supported only on the Windows, macOS, and Web Access clients, with Windows/macOS requiring version 5.20.0 or newer. The Linux client does not support pooled WorkSpaces at this time, and AWS has not published a roadmap for adding it. If you need Linux thin client access, the practical workaround is to use Web Access in a supported browser, or run a supported client in a virtualized environment. You can track feature updates in the Amazon WorkSpaces Release Notes or raise a feature request through AWS Support.
Thanks and regards,
Taz
Hey,
Hope you're keeping well.
WorkSpaces Pools are currently supported only on the Windows and macOS client apps (version 5.20.0+), plus Web Access. The dedicated Linux WorkSpaces client does not support pooled mode, and AWS has not published a roadmap for adding it. On Linux thin clients, the practical workaround is to use Web Access in a supported browser, which still provides pooled session capability without requiring the native client. For feature requests or roadmap details, open a support case or reach out through your AWS account team.
Thanks and regards,
Taz
