AWS account verification stuck 10+ days, 2 support cases unassigned — need urgent help

-1

Hi,

My AWS account (Account ID: ************) has been stuck in "not verified" status for over 10 days. This is blocking access to the Console and CloudShell entirely.

I've raised two support cases for this same issue, and both remain unassigned:

  • Case ID: *************** (filed ~8 days ago)
  • Case ID: *************** (filed ~2 days ago)

I've also faced EC2 SSH connection resets and CloudShell/Cloud9 environment creation failures, both showing "account verification in progress."

I'm based in India — is this possibly related to PAN/identity verification requirements for India-based accounts? I haven't received any communication from AWS asking for additional documents, but wanted to check if that's a likely cause.

I've already tried multiple times connecting with aws support team somehow but no response, and submitted a fresh escalation on my existing case. Given the duration of this delay (10+ days, 3 total support touches with zero response), I'd really appreciate if someone from AWS could take a look or point me toward the right escalation path.

Thanks in advance.

I understand how frustrating it is to have your AWS account verification delayed for over 10 days, especially when it's blocking your access to essential services like the Console and CloudShell. Let me provide some guidance on this situation.

Account verification delays can occur for various reasons, including additional identity verification requirements. For accounts in certain regions, including India, AWS may require additional documentation as part of their verification process. If AWS needs additional information from you, they typically send communication to the email address associated with your account, so please check your inbox (including spam/junk folders) for any messages from AWS.

For account verification issues specifically, the best path forward is to continue working through the AWS Support Center at https://console.aws.amazon.com/support/. You can add correspondence to your existing case with any additional details or to check on the status. Since you mentioned you've already submitted correspondence, the support team should be reviewing your case.

If you haven't already, when adding correspondence to your existing case, you might want to include:

  • Confirmation that you've checked for any emails from AWS requesting additional documentation
  • Details about your account setup and intended use case
  • Any error messages you're seeing when trying to access services

Regarding response times, these can vary based on your AWS Support plan. If faster response times are critical for your business needs, you may want to review the different AWS Support plan options available, which offer varying levels of response time guarantees.

The verification process is handled by a specialized team within AWS, and they work through cases in order. While I cannot expedite individual cases, continuing to work through the AWS Support Center is the appropriate channel for resolution of account verification matters.

Hello,

Sorry to hear about the trouble regarding account verification. I've relayed your sentiments internally to our Support team for visibility. Avoid creating duplicate cases as this can cause delays.

While I don't have a time frame, I'd encourage you to continue to monitor your case for further updates.
