How long can we use 'Multi-container Docker running on 64bit Amazon Linux' on Beanstalk?

0

We are using the 'Multi-container Docker running on 64bit Amazon Linux/2.27.7' on Beanstalk. We received an e-mail from AWS that 'Elastic Beanstalk Amazon Linux AMI (AL1) Platform Branches Retire on June 30, 2022'. [1]

How long time to support these existing environments?

That e-mail said 'Customers can continue to operate existing environments running on retired platform branches but these branches will no longer be managed and supported by Elastic Beanstalk' As far as I can read, we can use this environment continuously.

I want to know :

  • We can use our 'Multi-container Docker running on 64bit Amazon Linux/2.27.7' environment after June 30,200 or not.
  • We can deploy our environment after retire date or not,

Hi,

I believe you are concerned about your AWS Elastic Beanstalk Amazon Linux AMI platform retiring. When the platform branch has retired Elastic Beanstalk no longer makes it available for customers to deploy new environments. Existing customers may make use and deploy their current environments for a period of 90 days from the published retirement date [1].

If an existing customer run an Elastic Beanstalk environment on a retired platform version beyond the 90 day period, all the ongoing management and support of the running application will be the customers responsibility [1]. To continue to benefit from important security, performance, and functionality enhancements offered by component suppliers in more recent releases, we strongly encourage you to update all your Elastic Beanstalk environments to a supported platform version [2].
