Verify Root User Status
Confirm Root User Login: Ensure you are indeed logged in as the root user. Sometimes it might appear you're logged in as root, but you could be using a different user with limited permissions.
Go to the AWS Management Console.
Check the account details to confirm it states "Root user".
Access Management and Billing Console
**Check Root User Email Verification: **
Ensure the root user email address is verified. AWS might restrict certain actions if the email isn't verified.
Look for any verification emails in your inbox or request a new one if necessary.
**Clearing Browser Cache: **
Clear your browser's cache and cookies or try accessing the console in an incognito/private browsing window.
Try a different browser to rule out any browser-specific issues.
**Accessing Billing Console: ** Directly access the billing dashboard via this URL: https://console.aws.amazon.com/billing/home
Ensure no other accounts are logged in and causing conflicts.
Resolving Permission Issues
IAM Policy and Permissions:
As the root user, you should have full access, but IAM policies might still restrict your actions. Double-check IAM policies assigned to your users.
Ensure the IAM user has the AdministratorAccess policy attached. Sometimes, custom policies might be overly restrictive.
Service Quotas and Restrictions:
Sometimes service limits or quotas might prevent certain actions. Check if there are any service-specific quotas or limits reached.
**Contact AWS Support ** Since you're unable to create a support case from the console, try the following:
AWS Support Center:
Use the AWS Support Center to contact AWS Support directly. You can open a support case via email or phone.
Email Support:
Email AWS support directly from the email associated with your root account. Use support@amazon.com or find the appropriate support email for your region.
AWS Account and Billing Support:
If billing issues are causing the access problem, call AWS billing support at:
North America: 1-888-280-4331
International: Find the number for your country here.
AWS Forums and Community:
Visit the AWS Forums to seek help from the community and AWS moderators.
Additional Steps
Account Suspension:
Ensure your account is not suspended due to billing or other compliance issues. Suspended accounts can have restricted access.
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA):
If MFA is enabled for the root account, ensure it’s correctly set up and accessible. Sometimes MFA issues can cause login problems.
