SageMaker Billing

0

Hi, i'm learning SageMaker since yesterday. I really did not much beside running a notebook on an instance for like 1 hour. An today I see a $60 bill for sagemaker. I don't know where it comes from. Maybe I am missing something ?

  • Hi There,

When working on a SageMaker notebook instance you get billed for the EC2 instance type https://aws.amazon.com/ec2/instance-types/ that you chose when creating the notebook instance. So it is important to chose the least expensive EC2 instance type depending on the type of task you want to perform. Secondly, you get billed for the duration of the time the notebook instance is "inService" state. To avoid unnecessary charges, it is best to stop the notebook instance if you are not working in it.

Hello.

Did you delete the notebook instance after you finished using it?
Also, are you launching a notebook instance with a large instance size?

please note that you are only billed for the duration you are logged in.If you're not using Amazon SageMaker Canvas, you can log out. A workspace instance is dedicated for your use as soon as you launch SageMaker Canvas from the console. Logging out ends the workspace instance. Can you please verify if you have logged out ?
