Long codes for SMS on Amazon SNS no longer supported

0

I keep getting alerts from AWS:

We are contacting you because your AWS account contains one or more long codes for SMS workloads on Amazon SNS which are no longer supported for sending SMS text messages to the United States

But I only have one phone number in Amazon Pinpoint, which is assigned to a 10DLC campaign, so I think that should be safe. Messages are still being sent OK.

Am I missing something?

Starting August 31, 2023, US telecom providers plan to decommission sending SMS text messages using long codes. So, if you don't have any long codes and are using only a 10DLC number to send SMS, then it should be good. Please do make sure you don't have any long codes in other regions as well. If you still continue to receive PHD notifications, please open a support case https://docs.aws.amazon.com/awssupport/latest/user/case-management.html

  • I'm here because I can't open a support case, even if it seems like this is a bug on AWS's side.
