When will the Llama 3.1 family of model's be available through Bedrock in us-east-1 (or eu-west-1)

The documentation that lists which model's are available in which regions states that

All models are supported in the US East (N. Virginia, us-east-1) and the US West (Oregon, us-west-2)

followed by a few exceptions. This list of exceptions previously stated that the Llama 3.1 family (8B, 70B, 405B) were only available in us-west-2. This exception has since been removed, but the model's still aren't available in us-east-1.

Was this just a mistake with the last update of the page, or if not, does anyone know what the rough timeline is for the 3.1 family being added to us-east-1 (or eu-west-1).

Based on the most recent information available, the Llama 3.1 family of models (8B, 70B, and 405B) is currently only available in the US West (Oregon) Region (us-west-2) through Amazon Bedrock. There is no specific timeline mentioned for when these models will be available in US East (N. Virginia, us-east-1) or Europe (Ireland, eu-west-1) regions.

The documentation you're referring to may have been updated prematurely or in error. As of the latest confirmed information, Llama 3.1 models are still limited to the US West (Oregon) Region.

It's worth noting that AWS typically expands the availability of its services and models to other regions over time. However, without an official announcement or update from AWS, we can't provide a specific timeline for when the Llama 3.1 family will be available in us-east-1 or eu-west-1.

If you require access to these models in other regions, it's recommended to keep an eye on official AWS announcements or contact your AWS account team for the most up-to-date information on regional availability plans.
