Upgrade the python version in App Runner Service?

Question

Is it possible to upgrade the python version in an App Runner service created from source code repo? If so how? If not, what is the best alternative to run an app that requires python >= 3.10.10 ?

Answer

In the AppRunner service configuration (apprunner.yaml) there is an option of a container or runtime version (e.g. `runtime: python3.10`).  You can use a CI/CD pipeline to build a container with the required Python version, then add the container to ECR and import it when creating a new AppRunner service.
