Setting up DeepLens - Registration Failed

I have a v1 deeplens that I am finally setting up, but running into issues with When I turned it on I connected, gave it my wifi information but then I got stuck in a "install and reboot" update loop. It seemingly didn't do anything.

Every time I clicked the link it took me here http://deeplens.amazon.net/#softwareUpdate

Then I found a post on the old forum with someone who had the same issue, and there was a recommendation to go to http://deeplens.amazon.net/#attachCertificate directly

This seemed to have worked, I was able to add my certificate. And get through the final setup (assuming after that I was supposed to just get a confirmations screen) and click finish. Then I got a green box saying everything was complete and go back to the AWS console

Well I did all of that, the Wifi light is solid. but the AWS console says registration has failed and I have no idea how to fix this.

When I was in the update loop I already tried to use the reset button on the back and that did not fix anything.
