SES eventType is return Deliveries though the messages being sent to SPAM folder.

I have set up an SES configuration set and chosen various events, including complaints. They've subscribed an SNS email protocol to these events. However, when they mark an email as spam from the recipient's email to test different events, I don't see the expected outcome in the notification response (I can eventType:Deliveries but it has to eventType:Complaints ). I am wondering if they've overlooked something in this process.

By far, not all email providers support the feedback loop to AWS so complaints are registered. Try a yahoo email address – they support FBL to AWS SES. Afterwards, you'll see a notification with the Complaint event type.
