EKS nodegroup autoscaling error for aws automatically created tag

0

Probably a newbe question but... I started to test EKS (from the web UI) recently but I got stuck at the nodegroup creations. steps: 1- create EKS cluster (all default ) 2- create nodegroup (increased the number of nodes for the maximum 2-2-2 to 2-2-20) 3- got an error about the tag that is not respecting the aws rules as aws creates it as a link and / is not allowed 4- I could probably delete those tags to make it proceed but I am not aware of their usage and if that would break some automation under EKS itself and create just more troubles in a long term perspective

ERROR: Enter image description here

AUTOCREATED TAGS: Enter image description here

The stackoverflow was saying to disable "You can find this option when creating or modifying a launch template under: Advanced details section > Metadata accessible" Actually the option to disable is another the "Allow tags in metadata" to "Disable"

  • Hello GK, unfortunately these solutions seems are not working. The troubleshooting is telling me even that the tags should be those as aws creates. and those tags are exactly the cause of the issue itself

Unfortunately since I could understand and try it didn't work: test1

    • created a template with aws AMI 2023 with the "Metadata accessible" Disabled
    • usetd that template to launch the nodegroup (same error) test2
    • as I noticed eks was creating its template
    • after launching the nodegroup creation (asap)
    • I modified that template to Disable the option
    • set my v2 as default
    • deleted the v1

Nothing of the upper solutions worked unfortunately or I was not capable of adopting them I tried also to get some recent video in youtube for beginners but the newest one wasn't receiving my error either I tried to leave ll the settings by default and had same error
