New WorkMail account cannot connect with Outlook

Question

I have recently setup WorkMail and while webmail works I cannot get Outlook to connect. It fails autodiscover setup even though the DNS entries are present & valid.
When I attempt manual setup (I know 2016 & 2019 doesn't technically support it) I get the prompt to allow this website to configure settings only to get an EAS failure "the server cannot be found"

I have the same difficulty. It seems Microsoft Outlook for Mac does not support Microsoft Exchange?

Hi,

I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing problems with the outlook set-up. WorkMail does not support EAS connections from Outlook and therefor manual set-up will not work. To troubleshoot your auto discover configuration you can add a mail alias with the awsapps.com to your user and try to configure Outlook with that email address. If successful Outlook will use the primary email address to configure the profile.
